On April 10th-11th 2014, the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) hosted the Power2Youth Kick-off meeting.

Power2Youth and SAHWA are the two main EU-funded FP-7 Projects on Mediterranean Youth. Daniela Pioppi, who was invited to attend the SAHWA Kick-off meeting on February 2014, and Cristina Paciello are the Scientific Coordinators of this project.

POWER2YOUTH is a consortium made up of 12 institutes and universities funded by the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme (FP7). The project will study the causes and effects of processes of exclusion of young people in the South and East of the Mediterranean, while seeking to identify the factors that favour their inclusion. The three-year project focuses in particular on bottom-up processes of change and on the transformative potential of new generations through an interdisciplinary approach, different levels of analysis (macro, meso and micro) and six national case studies (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, the Occupied Territories Palestinians, Lebanon, Turkey).

Iván Martín has been invited to participate in this meeting: he had a talk on “Synergies with other Research Projects” in order to promote a close cooperation between SAHWA and POWER2YOUTH.
