Handbook on Education for Employment
Wednesday 14 September 2016, Ana Martiningui
Entitled “Towards brighter futures: Empowering youth in the Arab Mediterranean countries through Education for Employment initiatives”, this handbook was written and coordinated by Ana Martiningui jointly with Education for Employment’s team. This Handbook aims to help address AMCs’ youth unemployment crisis by providing some guidelines for practitioners working or wishing to work on youth unemployment in the region.
The first part of this Handbook explores initiatives taken at the international and national levels to mitigate youth unemployment and provides an overview of the labour market situation in each AMC under study. In the second section, five examples of successful programmes are presented, covering each country under study (Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia). The third section offers a practical 10-step guide to setting up a successful youth education for employment programme to guide practitioners in helping young people make an effective transition from school to work.
